Position Summary: The mission of the FWS Refuge System is to manage a national network of lands and waters for the conservation, management, and where appropriate, restoration of fish, wildlife and plant resources and their habitat. The Refuge System maintains these natural resources for the benefit of present and future generations of Americans. Caring for fish, wildlife and plant populations and their habitat is the essence of the science of wildlife management as well as the newer disciplines of conservation biology and ecosystem management.

The Conservation Planning Assistant will serve within the Division in the Pacific Regional Office providing support to Comprehensive Conservation Planning teams who are developing plans and conducting public involvement and complying with NEPA processes. Under the National Wildlife Refuge System Administrative Act as Amended in 1997, all national wildlife refuges are required to develop a Comprehensive Conservation Plan by 2012. CCP’s guide management of national wildlife refuges; therefore through support of the timely completion of CCPs, the positions will contribute towards enhancing public lands; increasing awareness of environmental issues and concepts; and increasing resource conservation. General Responsibilities (to include, but not limited to): 
* Assist with the development, revision, and review of products related to NWRS CCP’s including preplanning, planning updates, refuge planning website, NEPA compliance, and publications related to CCPs.
* Provide database management, writing and editing, research and meeting support with regards to comprehensive conservation, under the supervision of a Branch Chief within the Division.
* Work with Planners, landscape architects, visual information specialist, and field staff to obtain information necessary to complete work related to comprehensive conservation planning.
* Support NWRS staff by attending and participating in planning team meetings and performing related tasks such as writing, note-taking, organizing, and web support.
* Complete and submit all necessary FWS, NWSA and AmeriCorps paperwork and reports in a timely manner. 
* Wear an NWSA uniform and/or appropriate identifiers and required safety gear while performing service or attending official events. 
Position Requirements: 
* Knowledge of ecological principles and processes. 
* Knowledge of natural and cultural resource management and conservation biology concepts.
* Skill in operating a computer, primarily for work processing, spreadsheets, database management (e.g. maintaining mailing lists).
* Knowledge of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) procedures, analysis of actions and assessment of impacts and benefits of actions on environmental, cultural, and socio-economic resource values.
* Ability to work independently, collect data and manage information, check work for errors, make decisions about workload priorities and estimate length of time to accomplish time-critical tasks.
* Ability to inventory, analyze and evaluate lands and resources for national wildlife refuge management activities, including conservation management, recreation management and facilities development. .
* Knowledge of the mission and goals of the Fish and Wildlife Service and the National Wildlife Refuge System and a demonstrated interest in wildlife conservation and public land management for the benefit of natural and cultural resources.
* Demonstrated excellent written and verbal skills, including presentation and public speaking skills. 
* Positive and flexible attitude with strong work ethic.
* Willingness to work outside, often on uneven terrain and in inclement conditions.
* Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record and ability to provide documentation.

Position Summary: OWET seeks a program manager who will be primarily responsible for managing the entire suite of studies, reports, and industry programs that form the core of OWET’s mandate. Our goal is to efficiently invest resources in programs that help promote a responsible wave energy industry in the state of Oregon.

OWET was created by the Oregon Economic and Community Development Department through the Oregon Innovation Council in 2007. We have a diverse board made up of community leaders from around the state engaged in environmental, fishing, government, and industry, all with a keen interest in renewable energy. Economic development is also a core part of our mission and a viable candidate must be comfortable with addressing environmental and climate change related problems through the lens of responsible development of our resources.

OWET’s mission is to serve as a connector for all stakeholders involved in wave energy project development–from research and development to early stage community engagement and final deployment and energy generation–positioning Oregon as the North American leader in this nascent industry and delivering its full economic and environmental potential for the state.

General Responsibilities (to include, but not limited to): 
* Learn and execute the position of program manager.
* Collaborate with the Executive Director in the operation of OWET.
* Develop fluency in the general policies and issues related to renewable energy development and wave energy in particular.
* Support OWET by attending and participating in planning team meetings and performing related tasks such as writing, note-taking, organizing, and web support.

Position Summary: The Energy Conservation Technician will work with the Energy & Resource Conservation Program Manager and the HVAC Foreman to strategize, design, implement and maintain a system for more responsive HVAC event scheduling of our 50-campus District (50%).

This team will also develop a strategy for utilization of the District’s interval metering data service. This includes set-up of reasonable consumption alarms and work in conjunction with HVAC department to respond to these alarms, along with implementation of a long-term departmental solution to monitor and respond to interval metering service. May also include development of training program for building operators on the use of the interval metering service, first response activities, and when and how to contact HVAC department to advise of suspect issues (25%).
 
The Energy Conservation Technician will be involved in the implementation and savings verification of various SB1149 energy efficiency projects, and will also assist with projects involving the Energy Trust (25%).
 
General Responsibilities (to include, but not limited to): 
 ? Set up and maintain a better system for HVAC event scheduling.
 ? Perform scheduling audits and building walk-throughs.
 ? Set up and maintain interval data metering/HVAC response program.
 ? Interface with HVAC staff, maintenance staff, facilities staff, building operators, and custodians in response to system consumption alarms.
 ? Use data logging and trending equipment to trend, verify and report on building performance.
 ? Assist in the implementation of energy efficiency measures.

Position Summary: The StreamTeam started in 1992 and has grown to a regionally recognized volunteer environmental restoration effort of Clark Public Utilities. Since the program’s inception, volunteers from a variety of backgrounds have planted over 600,000 native trees to bring salmon back to Salmon Creek. Annually over 800 volunteers plant trees, monitor local water quality, manage non-native plants and provide environmental outreach to protect local water quality and quantity. The StreamTeam interacts with approximately 20,000 people each year through outreach and educational opportunities in the community. This program is facilitated by one staff coordinator with limited assistance of a six person NWSA/AmeriCorps field team.

The StreamTeam Program Assistant will assist the StreamTeam Coordinator in developing high quality, on-the-ground restoration and outreach activities in the Salmon Creek and East Fork of the Lewis Watersheds. These activities might include; program development, community event design and implementation, volunteer recruitment and coordination, outreach, and grant writing opportunities.
 
A large portion of the member’s time (approximately 70%) will include large event planning, program outreach, environmental education and the development of volunteer leaders. Our goal is to provide the one-on-one attention necessary to cultivate volunteer leaders. Once volunteer leaders are trained and active, the position will be able to focus on other program needs such as grant writing. Less than half of the time will be spent in the field.
 
General Responsibilities (to include, but not limited to): 
 ? Collaborate to design and implement restoration and outreach activities including: community tree plantings, volunteer led monitoring events, presentations, volunteer training, non-native plant management, and large community events.
 ? Identify and develop volunteer leaders.

Position Summary: The Wetland Restoration Project Manager reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for the organization’s achievement of its restoration goals for the Snowden Wetlands Restoration project, and will additionally be responsible for assisting with the organization’s successful and growing environmental science education and research programs, habitat stewardship projects and informing the development of the Snowden Wetlands Educational Center.

General Responsibilities (to include, but not limited to):
The Project Manager will work closely with the CGEI Executive Director and AmeriCorps Interns, as well as collaborating organizations and partners, working on the following tasks;

Stewardship, Restoration, and Education
* Managing all restoration projects including contact management, volunteer and staff oversight, while also assisting in education and service learning programs directly related to restoration priorities.
* Manage the Snowden Wetlands Habitat enhancement project, restoring 60 acres of degraded wetlands, through ensuring compliance with federal, state and local regulations and permits, and managing professional and construction service contracts.
* Assist in coordinating volunteers and advisory committee activities, and ensure safe and meaningful involvement in restoration, construction and education activities at the Snowden Wetlands site.
* Coordinate and supervise all contactors and volunteers involved with Snowden Wetlands restoration and collaborate concurrently in the Snowden Wetlands Educational Center.
* Assist in coordinating citizen science research and monitoring activities and Snowden Wetlands.

Project Management

* Assist the Executive Director in developing and tracking restoration project budgets.
* Complete appropriate program grant reports and proposals in a timely manner.
* Maintain restoration project files, in-kind tracking, volunteer tracking, contacts and other pertinent information.
* Secure and coordinate assistance from Executive Director, CGEI interns, board members, volunteers and partners as needed for ensuring project success.
* Assist the Executive Director (as needed) in grant proposal research, writing and editing for future Snowden Wetlands restoration and education activities.
* Prepare and disseminate project related outreach materials, including brochures, website content, newsletters, brochures.
* Build and maintain sound working relationships and cooperative arrangements with community groups and organizations.
* Provide regular program reports to staff, board of directors and advisory committees.
* Attend monthly board meetings and advisory committee meetings.
* Build and maintain positive relations with project partners, funders and community members.
* Safety and risk management
* Other duties as assigned
* Complete and submit all necessary NWSA/AmeriCorps paperwork and reports in a timely manner.
* Attend and complete all NWSA/AmeriCorps training and service requirements including orientation and exit interviews.

Position Requirements:

* At least two years professional experience in managing, developing, administering and/or implementing programs/projects in: habitat restoration/enhancement, conservation science field research or project management.
* A bachelor’s degree in environmental science, natural resources management, environmental education, or other related field.
* Demonstrated leadership ability.
* Project management, implementation and evaluation experience.
* Must possess attention to detail.

Position Summary: The Environmental Contaminants Associate will assist in performing technical analysis of various chemical contaminant issues facing Oregon’s threatened and endangered species. Many risk assessment tools and models will be used in this position. Here is a rewarding opportunity to assist in conserving Oregon’s amazing fish and wildlife while gaining valuable experience. The position exists within the Environmental Contaminants Division of the Oregon Fish and Wildlife Office, which is an Ecological Services field office of the Fish and Wildlife Service. Position Summary: The Climate Project Specialist will assist with the implementation of key projects that support Metro’s commitment to climate change work throughout the Portland metro region. The Climate Project Specialist will spend half of their time working with Metro’s Regional Climate Initiative to implement projects that support the creation of a regional action plan on climate change. The other half of the position will work with Metro’s Sustainability Program and will focus on projects that directly reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the agency’s internal operations.

Our projects fall under five major programs: climate preparation; climate economics; climate education, communication and behavioral change; community energy and stewardship; and climate equity and social justice. 

Project Location: Eugene, Oregon

Position Summary: This AmeriCorps position will have three main roles: 1) support and train governments and organizations in developing climate scenarios to identify local impacts; 2) incorporate data being collected locally into the scenarios; and 3) manage an online decision support tool which facilitates development of a climate change preparation plan tailored to the specific community. Downscaling support for the Umatilla, Lower Willamette, and other regions where we work will take approximately 50% of time; support for local data incorporation in the basin scenarios will take 25% of time; support for development of a decision support tool will take 25% of time. 

General Responsibilities (to include, but not limited to):
* Support incorporation of local watershed data into climate projection models for river basins.
* Support development of climate impact scenarios for river basins.
* Provide GIS training or support, as needed, for watershed councils and communities for climate change modeling and projections.
* Network with watershed council and community GIS technicians or planners to identity data and modeling needs.
* Support development of an online climate preparation decision support tool (the Climate Preparation Analyst or CPA).
* Manage CPA users and inquiries.
* Provide training as needed on CPA.
* Develop other tools/training as identified by stakeholders.
* Complete and submit all necessary TRIG, NWSA and AmeriCorps paperwork and reports in a timely manner.
* Wear an NWSA uniform and/or appropriate identifiers and required safety gear while performing service or attending official events.

Position Requirements:
* Watershed data incorporation into climate projection models
* Support the Umatilla Tribe, partners in the Lower Willamette Basin, and other
  partners with modeling of local climate projections
* Provide GIS training to partners
* Management of CPA users
* Develop and deliver training for CPA users
* U.S. citizen, national or lawful permanent resident.
* Ability to commit to the full term of service for which you are applying.
* Successfully pass a fingerprint criminal history background check provided through
 NWSA and/or Project Sponsor Agency.
* Regular and reliable attendance.
* Have not previously served two terms in an AmeriCorps*State or National program.
 Members may serve up to three terms in a National Service Program, but only two
 terms may be within an AmeriCorps*State or National program. Members are only
 eligible for an education award for their first two terms of service, regardless of the
 type of term (full or part-time) and regardless of the successful completion of that
 term.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience processing data and creating maps using ESRI software.
* Experience programming GIS applications in Python and/or Visual Basic.
* Working with Climate Data in NetCDF format.
* Experience with the ArchHydro data model and the NHDPlus dataset.
* Climate and/or hydrology modeling experience using observed and modeled data.
* Experience in database management.
* Experience in developing and/or delivering technical training to a diverse group of
 users.

 education award of $4,725. The education award can be used to repay qualified

Position Summary: The goals for the Green Schools Specialist position include green material and methods education and research, as well as developing PPS green building standards and forming key relationships with research entities, development partners and green organizations. Researching materials and methods: 30%, Green programs, technologies and standards: 20%, O/M best green building practices: 10%, Support public process: 20%, Develop relationships: 10%, Department’s library: 10%

General Responsibilities (to include, but not limited to):
* Research NW regional and preferred green materials, building technologies and case studies – from masonry and site improvements to interior finishes and furnishings
* Research various green building standards/programs: LEED, Green Globes, CHPS and compare/contrast options to assist in compiling PPS standards.
* Develop best practices for Operation and Maintenance of green buildings
* Support public design and sustainability workshops/charrettes
* Develop collaborative relationships with research entities, such as Portland Daylighting Lab, Environmental Testing labs
* Establish standards and organization for department’s resource library
* Complete and submit all necessary NCCSP, NWSA and AmeriCorps paperwork and reports in a timely manner.
* Wear an NWSA uniform and/or appropriate identifiers and required safety gear while performing service or attending official events.
Position Requirements:
* Personal vehicle is required for service activities
* Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record and ability to provide documentation
* High school graduate with minimum of 3 years college education or applicable work experience
* Computer software competence in Microsoft Excel and Word
* Graphics programs, such as Photoshop, InDesign and PowerPoint are also recommended
* Basic knowledge or interest in green building technologies and materials
* General writing and office experience
* Teaching and/or leadership experience
